Man arrested after threat that caused South St. Paul schools move to e-learning Wednesday

Police say a man is in custody after an early-morning incident in which he made a threat against South St. Paul schools, causing the district to shift to remote learning on Wednesday.

South St. Paul police say the department was notified of a domestic violence call in St. Paul early Wednesday. During that incident, St. Paul police learned that a man involved “made a specific threat of violence against South St. Paul Public Schools amongst other offenses.”

Because of the timing of the incident, South St. Paul Police said it couldn’t determine the credibility of that threat before the school day, prompting the school district to make a switch on short notice…
