New south Minneapolis art studio to offer classes, community

A new art-making studio has taken up residence in south Minneapolis.

Studio J-Bo, opening in the Tangletown neighborhood, was founded by Julie Bourman and Julie Hillmyer. It’s situated at the corner of Nicollet Ave. and 47th St., just down the block from the shopping complex that includes the soon-to-close Sun Street Breads.

J-Bo is offering art workshops for adults of all experience levels, aiming to offer a welcoming environment with small class sizes.

“We envision a creative space where individuals will come to create, learn, and explore,” Bourman says. “Our goal is to offer a variety of artmaking workshops that not only teach new skills but also foster social connections and provide a fun, enriching environment for all of our participants.”…
