Asher’s Bar & Grill, a new sports-bar concept from a pair of local hospitality veterans, is getting ready to move into the former Chilango space across from Bde Maka Ska. The ground-floor spot inside the Beach Club Residences is being built out as a game-watching hub with chef-driven comfort food and accessible prices. The name is a family tribute, honoring owner Zach Sussman’s late great-uncle and his son, both named Asher.
According to The Minnesota Star Tribune, Asher’s is taking over 2730 W. Lake St. and is aiming to open to the public the week of April 20. Sussman told the paper he wants the spot to feel “kind of a Cheers, a comfortable, approachable, fun neighborhood hangout.”…
