Hundreds line up as Hopkins church gives away free gas ahead of Easter

Hundreds of drivers stretched for blocks Saturday morning as Kingdom Embassy Worship Center gave away free gas at two Twin Cities area gas stations, offering up to $30 per car to help families feeling the strain of rising fuel prices.

According to Gas Buddy, Minnesota’s average gas price remains below the national average, but since the end of March, prices have climbed by at least 20 cents. For many drivers, that increase is enough to change daily routines.
