A Maple Grove man has been sentenced to just over 10 years in prison for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old girl in Brooklyn Park last summer.
Melchizedek Kpaan, 25, was initially charged with one count of second-degree intentional murder and one count of possessing a firearm as a felon. Kpaan later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first-degree manslaughter in the heat of passion, and the firearm charge was dismissed.
Kpaan was sentenced to 122 months in prison late last month. He received credit for 252 days of time served…
