Man accused of spraying Rep. Omar with vinegar changes plea

The man accused of assaulting Rep. Ilhan Omar and spraying apple cider vinegar on her at a town hall meeting is changing his plea to guilty.

Online federal court records show all parties in the case against Anthony Kazmierczak have reached a settlement agreement. An official change of plea hearing has been scheduled in May.

At a north Minneapolis town hall meeting during the height of Operation Metro Surge in January, Kazmierczak was caught by multiple news cameras shooting a liquid substance out of a syringe towards Rep. Omar’s face.
