MINNEAPOLIS — A “well-documented ‘highs’ gang member” was convicted of second-degree murder and second-degree attempted murder Friday in connection with a deadly 2024 shooting in Brooklyn Park.
Marquan Deshaun Tucker, 21, fired more than a dozen rounds at two people exiting a business on the 8000 block of Brooklyn Boulevard on Dec. 7, 2024. One of the victims died at the scene, while the other was transported to a local hospital with neck and leg injuries. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said the shooting was related to gang activity.
“This was a senseless tragedy that took the life of a young person and forever altered the lives of so many others,” said Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty in a press release. “My thoughts are with the family and loved ones of everyone affected. Today’s conviction holds Mr. Tucker accountable for his actions and ensures he cannot cause further harm to the community. I’m grateful to the jury for their service and to our trial team and victim support staff for their tireless work.”…
