Several Minnesota school districts are asking voters to decide on new school funding requests

Residents in the metro and beyond will vote Tuesday on school referendums. In South St. Paul, voters will decide whether to approve a $50 million building bond for repairs and upgrades at several buildings.

The district says the list includes crumbling tennis courts and outdated heating and air conditioning systems. Superintendent Brian Zambreno said state funding for building maintenance only goes so far.

“We want to make sure our buildings are accessible, that they are healthy and safe,” Zambreno said. “But also conducive to modern learning.”…
