Donut shop to close its locations in Burnsville and Lakeville

Donut Star is closing both of its locations indefinitely, the company announced Monday night.

The donut shops in Burnsville and Lakeville will have their last days in business on Sunday, May 24.

“As everyone knows, times are tough for small businesses,” co-owner Kiley Van Daalen tells Bring Me The News. “Unfortunately, the cost of doing business outweighed the amount of donuts we were actively selling, and the business wasn’t in a sustainable place.”

Donut Star changed hands last summer, when the owners of Tapestry Coffee – Scott and Kiley Van Daalen and Brady Heerema – acquired the business from Peter Sebastian, who had taken ownership of the store three years earlier…
