MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile drummer Chico McCollum is recovering after undergoing double bypass open-heart surgery in April. Friends and fans came together Sunday to host ChicoFest to support him during his recovery.
McCollum, known as Chico Drums, has become a local icon with his signature mohawk, energetic performances and trademark drumstick twirls at Mardi Gras parades and in the local music scene.
