MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — For the first time in program history, the Troy Trojans will make the trip to Omaha, Nebraska and play in the College World Series.
The Trojans steamrolled through Super Regionals, defeating Little Rock 12-2 and 7-2 to clinch their first appearance in program history. Junior Outfielder Drew Nelson went a combined 4-for-8 with four RBI and three runs scored in the two contests.
Troy’s opponent, the West Virginia Mountaineers, are also making their first College World Series appearance out of the Big 12 Conference. The Mountaineers hammered Cal Poly 12-2 in the Super Regional opener, before a 17-1 win to punch their ticket to Omaha…
