Texas Longhorn gets loose on Bayway during rush hour

DAPHNE, Ala. (WALA) – A Texas Longhorn caused a major traffic backup on the Bayway during rush hour after getting loose from a trailer.

The Bayway going toward Baldwin County went down to one lane before being shut down completely. It later reopened.

A friend of the owner said the cow, named Luna, was heading home to Magnolia Springs from a veterinarian in Lucedale when a latch failure caused the door on the stock trailer to open. She said Luna then jumped out of the trailer.

The friend said Luna has road rash on her knees and back. She is eating and drinking, but cannot stand…
