From Creola to Semmes, rainstorm closes roads, floods homes and causes other headaches

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Thursday’s storm that ripped through the region cut a handful of residents off from the main road in the Eight Mile area, stranded a family near Semmes and left some Creola residents dealing with their second flooding in a month.

The storm also downed trees and power lines, and forced the temporary closure of some roads.

Among the hardest-hit areas was Creola, where it did not take long for water to crash into Shirley Reed’s house on Dead Lake Road – for the second time in a month…
