Taking over policing in Prichard won’t be cheap – but no one can predict tab for county taxpayers

PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) – A Mobile County sheriff’s deputy pulled over a car here Monday afternoon, the latest sign that the department is in full control of policing in the city.

Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood asked the Sheriff’s Office to take control last week, after the FBI charged a Prichard officer with covering up crimes for the guilty and framing the innocent.
