MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A tax preparer from Eight Mile will go to prison for a year and must pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars in fraudulent refunds that she admitted filing.
A federal judge imposed the sentence Monday.
Aylesha Maria Allen, 42, pleaded guilty in October to aiding or assisting in the preparation of false returns. She admitted that she operated two tax preparation businesses in Mobile since at least 2018.
