MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — It’s been one week since the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office took over Prichard Police Department operations after the arrest of an officer in a federal corruption case.

Sheriff Paul Burch said the takeover is already running up an expensive tab.
“Right now it’s, you know, $13 to $18,000 a day and overtime that’s being spent,” Burch said. “Now, some of that will decrease as we finish up. You know, the search warrant with the property room, but that’s still months out.”
Based on his numbers, that could mean millions of dollars in overtime…
