Baldwin, Mobile, and Washington counties to receive new First Class Pre-K classrooms

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — MONTGOMERY — Baldwin, Mobile and Washington counties are among the Alabama communities set to receive new First Class Pre-K classrooms for the 2026-27 school year, Gov. Kay Ivey announced Wednesday.

The Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education is supporting 64 new First Class Pre-K classrooms statewide as part of Alabama’s continued effort to expand access to high-quality early learning programs.
