DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — By Thursday afternoon, it was business as usual at Christian Brothers Automotive in Daphne, but the way the day started was anything but ordinary, according to owner Matthew Brown.
Body found behind local Walmart
“We’ve never had any vandalism or anything, and then we have this happen,” he said.
Daphne Police say Preston Riegger, 43, from Lexington, Kentucky, broke in through the front door around 4 a.m.
Once inside, the phone rang from the alarm company.
“He actually answered the phone, the suspect did, and said things like he thought somebody was after him, and that’s why he broke into the building,” Lt. Kristin Andrews said.
Police photographs document the office’s disarray, the hammer used to break through the glass, and car keys tossed on the floor.
