At the Mobile SPCA in Alabama, 65 lucky puppies lifted off heading to Brandywine Valley SPCA in West Chester, PA and the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area enroute to their forever families.
What a profound difference the organization’s northern rescue partners are able to make finding the dogs from the South into wonderful homes they once could never imagine. Southern states have more dogs and cats than can be adopted because of the lower spay and neuter rates. Unfortunately, a lack of funding for low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and even with discounts, are more than many people can afford. Also, the many rural areas and the distance these pet owners would have to travel is much too daunting…
