MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A 25-year-old Mobile man was arrested Saturday and remains in Mobile County Metro Jail on charges of murder and first-degree assault, according to records.
Police said Chase Bodiford’s arrest on those charges is connected to a two-vehicle crash that occurred June 20 at the intersection of Schillinger Road South and Cottage Hill Road. That crash resulted in the death of 72-year-old Alan Grantham and the injury of another person, police said.
Investigators said a pickup truck traveling south on Schillinger Road ran a traffic light and collided with a vehicle traveling west on Cottage Hill Road. Grantham was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck.
Police said the driver of that vehicle was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries…
