Former McDuffie Coal Terminal employee faces 18 charges in Port Authority investigation

A former McDuffie Coal Terminal employee faces 18 criminal charges, including computer tampering and theft of trade secrets, after a months-long investigation launched by the Alabama State Port Authority after alleged misconduct was discovered earlier this year.

The probe began in January. In February, the Port Authority hired a third-party firm to assist with the investigation. The employees who were subject to the investigation were terminated earlier this year.

Two other former employees also face criminal charges stemming from the inquiry, and a warrant remains outstanding for a fourth former employee…
