Prichard’s $1.2M sheriff’s office contract heads to Mobile County Commission

Prichard, Al (NBC 15) — Prichard Mayor Carletta Davis says a proposed $1.2 million agreement with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is expected to go before the Mobile County Commission this week, formalizing a partnership that has handled day-to-day policing in the city for months.

Davis said Prichard City Council received the proposed one-year contract last week after city leaders worked with attorneys for the Sheriff’s Office and County Commission.

“On last week we proposed the contract to our city council, after working very diligently with the attorneys from both the sheriff’s department and the county commission,” Davis said. “And so this week it should go before the county commission for their approval as well.”…
