If ALDI is part of your grocery budget strategy, a new store opening nearby could make your next shopping trip easier. The discount grocer is continuing its nationwide expansion in 2026, with plans to open more than 180 stores across 31 states. The company is also entering new markets and expanding in areas where shoppers have already embraced its lower-cost approach to groceries. Its expansion includes both new locations and stores converted from existing grocery businesses. ALDI’s official grand-opening listings provide a useful starting point for shoppers looking for new stores, although individual opening dates can change.
1. Daphne, Alabama

Daphne is one of the Alabama communities included on ALDI’s official grand-opening list. The location gives shoppers in the growing coastal area another option for purchasing groceries and household basics. ALDI’s shopping model emphasizes private-label products, fresh produce, meat, dairy, frozen foods, and rotating seasonal finds. That smaller, curated selection can appeal to households looking to keep everyday grocery spending under control. Shoppers should check the official store page for the latest opening information before making a special trip.
2. Mesa, Arizona

Mesa is part of ALDI’s continued expansion in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The company announced plans to open 10 new stores in the Phoenix market during 2026, with a longer-term goal of adding 40 locations in the area by the end of 2030. That expansion could give more Arizona households access to the chain’s grocery selection and everyday pricing model.
