Baldwin County, AL — A Bay Minette man is accused of firing a handgun at an 18-wheeler traveling on Highway 59, in what the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office described as a random act of violence.
The sheriff’s office says Leon Hayden was driving northbound, north of Bay Minette, on Oct. 29 when he heard a loud pop and pulled over to check his truck. Deputies found a large-caliber bullet on the cab floor between the driver and passenger seats, along with what appeared to be a bullet hole on the outside of the driver’s side.
