10th annual Project Homeless Connect Friday in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — People experiencing homelessness can get a start finding stability this week. The annual Project Homeless Connect will put dozens of agencies and services under one roof to help people in need.

This Friday at The Grounds in West Mobile will be the 10th annual Project Homeless Connect. That’s where several agencies and volunteers can be found under one roof to help give people the tools to get out of homelessness.

There will be health and wellness checks, housing assistance, and food assistance, and other partners will be there from 8 to 2 Friday–the goal is to remove barriers to stability.

“This event provides them an opportunity to kind of get out of the situation that they’re in and, for example, will have a court that’s there. We’ll have two judges that will provide them an opportunity to get some minor infractions off of their record that will allow them to be potentially housed,” said Housing First Director of Community Outreach.

Free transit will be offered on all Wave buses, just tell the driver where you’re headed.
They’re also offering free transportation from Baldwin County–at 8 Friday morning from the Prodisee Pantry–they expect to see 500 or more people through the course of the day Friday.
