MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The long-awaited Bayou La Batre roundabout is finally open. The nearly $2 million project, which began in October, is on Scenic Route 188 at Irvington-Bayou La Batre Highway and included work on drainage, roadway, lighting, signage, concrete curbing and pavement markings. Traffic engineers said the roundabout will help traffic flow more smoothly.
