MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The Alabama Department of Transportation is reporting that the Bankhead Tunnel has reopened. ALDOT said they closed the Bankhead for about 30 minutes Thursday to test some electrical work as part of the ongoing installation of the tunnel’s new generator.
