The group worked together to take the woman’s wallet from her purse without her knowledge and then escape from the store.

The thieves used stolen cards from the wallet to buy thousands of dollars in gift cards from a nearby Sam’s Club, according to local Fox-affiliated news station WALA.

Local police are currently investigating the crime, using the surveillance image photos of some of the suspected thieves for leads.

“What we could see from the video, there were at least three subjects that could be working together,” said Sergeant Steven Mooney of the Spanish Fort Police.
