Teen Girl Shot 2 Classmates at Alabama High School Then Fled, Cops Say

The suspect, 16, got into an argument with one boy and shot him, then wounded a second classmate, police said

A teenage girl surrendered to police in Alabama Tuesday, after allegedly shooting two classmates following an argument with one of them.

Mobile Police Department told The Messenger that officers were called to LeFlore High School in the city, following reports of a shooting .

The suspect, 16, had reportedly got into a “verbal altercation” with a male student.

“During the argument, the female subject produced a handgun and shot the 15-year-old, causing a superficial wound,” the department said in a statement.

“The bullet also struck a 17-year-old male student who was subsequently transported to the hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.”

The suspect had then fled the scene. Cops were then able to detain her with the help of her parents, the department said.

The investigation was still ongoing as of 3:45 p.m. Tuesday.

A request for comment from LeFlore High School was still unanswered at time of publication.
