MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Mobile Police Department is conducting training this week to prepare officers for terrorist and hostage situations, according to an MPD press release.
Officials said that people who live in surrounding neighborhoods may overhear the training.
The Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training is set for 8 a.m. to 5 pm. on Tuesday, Jan. 30 and Wednesday, Jan. 31.
According to officials with the department, the ALERRT training will happen at the old Greystone School on 1301 Azalea Road.
TRAINING LOCATION:
During the training, officers will use firearms and other explosive devices.

Mobile police said those living in neighborhoods surrounding the school will likely hear sounds from the training sessions.
