Jury convicts Mobile man accused of drinking, using cell phone during fatal crash

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A jury on Wednesday convicted a driver who prosecutors contended was drunk and using a cell phone while he plowed into another vehicle four years ago. The jury found Harvey Caffey Jr., 48, of Mobile, guilty of reckless murder. He was on U.S. 90 on Feb. 23, 2020, when he collided with a car driven by 24-year-old Kenneth Rudolph.
