SARALAND, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Krewe of Sparta will parade Saturday at noon through Saraland!
Before Krewe of Sparta, Sraland did not have a mystic society or a Mardi Gras parade. In 2018, a person proposed the Saraland Mardi Gras Society and became founder and president, according to the Mobile Mask .
And then, the co-ed mystic society Krewe of Sparta was born.
Mobile Mardi Gras 2024: Parade Schedule
Krewe of Sparta is named after the Saraland High School Spartans. Its emblem is The Messenger, and it has a king and queen each year. Membership is capped at 200.
The Krewe participates in community service with multiple projects including the Adopt-a-Mile program.
The Krewe of Sparta will parade through Saraland at noon, and News 5’s Shamonee Baker and Summer Poole will be live from the parade!
