Mardi Gras is usually only celebrated for a small amount of time during the year. However, in one house that’s for sale in Mobile, Alabama, it’s party time every day.
It’s called The Mardi Gras house , and the five-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home is listed for $559,900. Of course, there’s a reason behind it’s iridescent name.
“Known locally as The Mardi Gras House due to its vibrant colors and proximity to Mardi Gras festivities, this home is a truly stunning Victorian masterpiece,” the listing on Realtor.com says.
“This three-story antebellum home was commissioned by Frank Petrinovich in 1899 as a boarding house, and the design by architect James Hutchinson showcases the iconic painted-lady style, part of a lineage contributing to Mobile’s architectural legacy.”
While the exterior is certainly a brilliant combination of purple, light yellow and a grayish-blue blend, the interior is just as bright, with a personality that fits its name.
