OCSO: Crestview man facing multiple felonies arrested

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — A Crestview man was arrested after multiple attempts to flee from law enforcement, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a news release, deputies with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office received reports of the location of a man with multiple felony warrants, identified as 39-year-old James Woodward Allen.

Upon arrival outside a home on Griffith Cemetery Road in Baker, deputies said, they saw Allen working on a vehicle.

When Allen saw uniformed deputies, he reportedly ran into the woods. Deputies set up a perimeter and released an OCSO K9 to track Allen.

The K9 captured Allen after he tried to flee, according to reports. Allen was arrested and taken to the Okaloosa County Jail in Crestview.

Allen was served warrants on 12 separate charges and received an additional count of resisting arrest.

According to the OCSO, Allen’s outstanding warrants include, “failure to appear for domestic violence battery with strangulation, possession of cocaine, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill – domestic violence related (two counts), burglary with assault and battery, battery, fleeing and eluding (two counts), multiple counts of resisting an officer without violence, failure to register a motor vehicle, driving with a suspended license (subsequent offense), and violating a pre-trial release condition.”
