Mobile officials approve $287,000 fix to Civic Center amid concerns of brick collapse

The Mobile Civic Center’s aging theater will get a $287,000 fix despite the increasing prospects that the entire 60-year-old venue could be demolished. The Mobile City Council, with a 5-1 vote Wednesday, approved a contract with Montgomery-based Ketom Construction Co., to remove loose bricks discovered on the theater’s facade.
