Teenager charged in fatal Heron Drive shooting to be tried as adult, judge rules

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A woman charged in the death of a robbery victim a year ago will be tried for felony murder as an adult, a judge ruled Wednesday. Mobile County Circuit Judge Ben Brooks closed Ricki Alexandra Thier’s so-called youthful offender hearing to the public but then denied the request. Had the judge granted it, records in the 18-year-old Mobile woman’s court case would have been sealed and her punishment capped at three years in prison.
