MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) – A big milestone in moving Mobile’s main commercial airport from west Mobile to downtown occurred Thursday. Mobile Airport Authority President Chris Curry says while construction really began a year and a half ago, it wasn’t until Thursday afternoon that it went vertical with the first beam raised.
