Gulf Shores 2023 spring break shooting suspect pleads guilty, receives sentence

GULF SHORES, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The man accused of shooting one person outside Gulf Place near The Hangout in March 2023 was in court for a plea hearing on Wednesday, according to court documents.

Rafiq Sh’mare Joel Bradley , 23, of Fairhope, pleaded guilty to assault and shooting into an occupied building, documents said.

Bradley was sentenced to a 20-year split sentence, in which he will serve five years in prison.

Once his sentence is complete, he will spend five years on supervised probation.

Bradley was originally facing more serious charges, including attempted murder.
