Mobile man accused of running from traffic stop: Police

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A Mobile man was arrested on drug charges after he reportedly attempted to run from an early morning traffic stop, according to the Mobile Police Department.

29-year-old Bobby Jermaine Grimes was arrested on Tuesday, July 2, after officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle near Springhill Avenue and Hosfelt Lane around 12:54 a.m.

LOCATION:

Police said the driver, identified as Grimes, initially refused to stop but eventually stopped the vehicle near Cotton Street and May Street and attempted to run on foot.

After a “short foot pursuit,” Grimes was arrested, an MPD press release said.

He was taken to the Mobile Metro Jail on charges of second-degree possession of marijuana, felony attempt to elude and use/possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office jail log.
