Mobile hotel room break-in under investigation – suspect arrested

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A man accused of breaking into a vacant hotel room has been arrested, according to the Mobile Police Department.

The MPD said in a press release that officers responded to the Quality Inn at 5650 Tillmans Corner Parkway around 8 a.m. July 31, after hearing about someone using a tool to access a vacant room.

According to the MPD, officers saw a man, whom they identified as 36-year-old James Rush of Fairhope, enter one of the hotel rooms. They also said a search of Rush’s vehicle found drugs, firearms, and burglary tools.

Rush was booked into the Mobile Metro Jail on charges of third-degree burglary and possession of burglary tools.
