Rip current statement for Mobile and Baldwin counties until 1 a.m. Tuesday

The National Weather Service issued a rip current statement at 4:11 a.m. on Monday in effect until Tuesday at 1 a.m. for Mobile and Baldwin counties. “Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water,” describes the weather service. “Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don’t swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.”
