New WaWa Store Opening in Mobile This Month

MOBILE, AL – According to a press release from WaWa, on Thursday, August 29th, Wawa celebrated the grand opening of its new store at 7095 Cottage Hill Road, marking its ongoing commitment to community engagement and service.

The festivities began at 7:45 a.m. with Wawa General Manager Shy Patrick leading the countdown to the store’s first opening at 8:00 a.m.

According to the press release, to commemorate its 60th anniversary, Wawa offered the first 100 customers free “In My Wawa Era 60th Anniversary” t-shirts and free hot coffee of any size all day long.

At 8:30 a.m., a ceremonial toast and ribbon-cutting ceremony followed, featuring remarks from Wawa Director of Store Operations Joseph Collins and Area Manager Charlene Harrell.

The event included a Hoagies for Heroes competition, where local police and fire departments competed in a friendly hoagie-making contest.

The grand opening not only celebrated the new store but also Wawa’s long-standing tradition of fulfilling the lives of its associates, customers, and community, a promise made since the opening of its first store in Folsom, PA in 1964, according to the press release.
