Mobile woman killed in fiery crash with Amazon truck identified

MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — The Mobile Police Department released the identity of the driver killed in a fiery wreck involving an Amazon delivery truck .

According to an MPD press release, 41-year-old Marcie Morissette of Mobile was killed in the crash that happened on I-65 in the southbound lanes near the I-10 interchange at around 12:55 a.m. on Tuesday.

Police said that Morissette was driving a Dodge Charger northbound on I-65 in the southbound lanes when she struck a semi-truck.

Morissette was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle involved received minor injuries in the crash, according to reports.

An hours-long fire resulted from the crash. The crash and subsequent fire resulted in lane closures on I-65 South.
