‘Scariest thing I’ve ever seen’: Rosinton family struggles to recover after house fire

ROSINTON, Ala. ( WKRG ) — A family in Rosinton is trying to recover memories and keepsakes after a fire devastated their home on Sunday night.

The flames damaged many of their belongings, but everyone made it out of the home safely.

“It was like something from the movies,” homeowner Wendy Langham said. “It was it was terrifying.”

Langham said it was a typical Sunday night for her family. She was relaxing watching television when she noticed a strange smell and thought her family was cooking.

She said when she got up to check it out, she ran toward the breezeway in the home.

“When I pulled the door open, there was flames on both sides. And it was the scariest thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” Langham said.

Langham said she has been extremely appreciative of the community’s support and encouragement.

“I’m just overwhelmed with love,” she said. “My community has went above and beyond everything.”
