‘Filling plates and filling hearts’: Baldwin County food pantry gets colorful update

SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WKRG) — The Prodisee Pantry serves food to hundreds of Baldwin County residents every month who have needed extra assistance for the past 21 years.

Local artist, Hannah Legg, is painting a 48-foot-wide mural at the pantry. As a Baldwin County native, she said she knows how important the food pantry is to her community.

“A lot of people that come through here are going through various amounts of difficult things in their lives,” Legg said. “I think it is really that feeling of being able to sit for a moment and just sort of take a breath and just kind of lose themselves in the mural for a little bit that I was going for.”

The mural isn’t the only update the pantry is receiving. They are working to refresh the entire interior and exterior of the food pantry, a project that has been in the works for over eight months now.
