Prosecutors said police were dispatched to the home of 31-year-old Cody Macon where they found a female victim covered in blood claiming Macon beat her up and threatened to hurt their 3-year-old child.

Police said due to the threats Macon made against the child, they forced entry to the home and found Macon with the child.

“The defendant was actually in a bedroom and then held the 3-year-old up between himself and the officers when they came up, using him as a shield,” Gulsby said.

Police said they were able to get the child away safely and detain Macon; however, Macon wasn’t ready to give up the fight.
