‘Thank you, Jesus’: Alabama teen found safe

Editor’s Note: We have updated this story after a Spanish Fort teenager who was once missing was found safe.

SPANISH FORT, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Two nights and two days of searching, combing thick woods with few clues, and just when some were starting to lose hope, their prayers were answered.

“Thank you, Jesus,” says Stephanie Sellers as she shares the news her daughter, Twyla Tarvin, has been found safe and apparently unharmed. “We are just grateful to God because I know only God did this.”

After walking away from her house on Buzbee Road Saturday afternoon, she was found just before two o’clock Monday under a shed along the wood line at the end of Huckleberry Lane.

Along with hundreds of other volunteers, Taylor Hill had also been searching the heavily wooded area. She was there when Twyla was found.

“It was very touching to get to see a Mom hold her baby after two nights without her,” said Hill, holding back tears.

“She said she crawled under the shed and that’s where she has been at,” said Sellers.
