Mobile man – reluctantly – admits role in murder-for-hire scheme

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A man indicted in a murder-for-hire scheme pleaded guilty Tuesday to a federal conspiracy charge. Jimaurice Pierce, 21, of Mobile, entered his plea reluctantly. He told defense attorney James Pittman earlier in the day that he had changed his mind about pleading guilty only to relent and then change his mind once again. At one point, U.S. District Judge Terry Moorer ordered a recess so that Pierce could talk to his lawyers and even ordered the U.S. Marshals Service to allow the defendant’s mother into the lockup area of the courthouse so she could talk to him.
