MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – You might see some Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews sporting bullet-proof vests when they respond to calls. It’s a new development the FOX10 is looking into. A source close to the MFRD told us the department is doing a test run of bullet-proof vests to see if it’s a protocol they’ll implement for good. We’re told there are mixed reactions from firefighters and it’s not something many of them asked for.
