MOBILE, Ala. ( WKRG ) — Damage to a cable has prevented viewers from watching WKRG-TV on YouTube TV. The problem has been ongoing for hours on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, News 5 has learned.

A YouTube TV technical staffer tells WKRG-TV engineers that Tuesday morning, a fiber line about 20 miles outside of Mobile was sliced. That cable cut has been preventing YouTube TV from receiving a signal from WKRG-TV to redistribute it.
By midday, a crew had been dispatched to repair the problem, said the same source at YouTube TV.
YouTube TV could not provide information about exactly when the fiber line would be fixed and WKRG-TV’s signal restored to the area’s YouTube TV lineup.
In the meantime, YouTube TV subscribers can always watch WKRG-TV 5 over the air on channel 5.1.
